Food Additives: Sulfur Dioxide

Today we are going to begin the discussion of food additives. Particularly Sulphur Dioxide will be addressed. Learn more : How to Avoid Sulfur Dioxide (and the Startling Reasons Why You Should). Added to dried fruits (image of apricots below) to slow down decay, sulphur dioxide can be incredibly harmful because once the chemical is in your body it heats up and becomes gaseous at which point it can exit your mouth and in turn be breathed into your body. Referred to as E220 in Europe, breathing in this sulfur dioxide can cause induce asthma while irritating and constricting breathing and even cause death.
