Hunter S. Thompson

Hunter S. Thompson (1937-2005) was a transformational American journalist, founder of the Gonzo journalism movement and a counterculture icon. Thompson wrote from a very unique perspective which satirized the American Dream exposing deep hypocrisy and social, political truths. In 1970 he authored The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent and Depraved which gave birth to Gonzo journalism and in 1972 he published the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: A Savage Journey to the Heart of the American Dream, which was later adapted into a movie in 1998. Thompson was always a journalist for truth and after the terror event of September 11, 2001 he immediately knew the mainstream narrative was false. He investigated the event and as he uncovered what he claimed to be proof the U.S government was behind the attack he was suspiciously “suicided”.
